SEO Methodology

This page documents how SEOLikeCrazy.com tools generate their scores, ranking estimates, and prioritized recommendations. We publish this so you can interpret every number with full context.

Audit Scoring

Our SEO Audit scores each URL on five categories: indexability, on-page, performance, structured data, and link health. Each category is weighted, normalized to 0–100, and combined into an overall score. Severity for each issue is derived from impact (traffic / rankings) and effort (implementation cost).

Keyword Research

Keyword difficulty is a 0–100 estimate that blends SERP competitive density, top-result authority signals, and content depth heuristics. Volume bands are directional, not exact monthly counts. Intent is classified into informational, navigational, commercial, and transactional using SERP feature analysis.

Rank Tracking

Positions are sampled daily from a desktop search profile in the project's target locale. Local-pack and AI Overviews are reported separately from organic rank. Position changes are smoothed over a 7-day window to reduce SERP volatility noise.

Backlinks & Authority

Authority signals aggregate referring domain count, anchor diversity, and link velocity. We do not publish a single proprietary metric as the "ground truth" — the dashboard shows raw counts alongside any composite scores.

AI Search Visibility

AI visibility is measured by sampling answers from ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Gemini for tracked queries, then scoring brand citation rate and source surface area.

Data Sources

  • Our crawler for on-page, technical, and structured-data signals
  • Public SERP samples for ranking and AI-visibility measurement
  • Third-party providers (e.g., Semrush) where explicitly labeled
  • Real Core Web Vitals data via the Chrome User Experience Report where available

Limitations

  • Search rankings change daily and cannot be guaranteed
  • Keyword volume is directional, not a contract
  • AI search responses are non-deterministic; we report distributions, not absolutes
  • Algorithm updates by Google, Bing, and AI engines can move metrics outside our control
